BCCI in a bid to complete the remaining 31 matches of the Indian Premier League 2021 has requested the English cricket board to reschedule the 5-match Test series. While no one from BCCI has confirmed this, Former English captain Mike Atherton has confirmed that the English board was approached to push the dates of the Test series forward by a week. According to the original schedule, Team India has no commitments after the World Test Championship final for a month. BCCI wants the 5-match Test series to end in August itself as they are expecting a clean 1-month window in September to host IPL in either England or the UAE.
