Continuing the war of words with the Pakistan Cricket Board and former South African Cricketer Herschelle Gibbs, BCCI slammed them for false accusations regarding the Kashmir Premier League(KPL). Countering Gibbs' and PCB's allegations of unnecessary interference and politicising cricket, BCCI clarified that the Indian board was well within its rights to make decisions with respect to the cricketing ecosystem in India.
Gibbs in a Tweet on Saturday said that the Indian board tried to prevent him from playing in the KPL and threatened him by saying they would not allow him to enter India for any cricket-related work.
PCB too joined in the commotion and accused BCCI of 'once again breaching international norms and the spirit of the gentleman's game by interfering in internal affairs of the ICC members'
The KPL has been approved by the PCB, they added.
47-year-old Gibbs is planning to play for the overseas warriors in the 6 team KPL, which begins on Aug 6th.
