Apple and Intel will be among the first customers for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., or TSMC’s 3nm chips, a report in Nikkei Asia said.
Apple is reportedly looking to put 3nm processors in the iPad, and Intel hopes to fight off competition from AMD in the server space.

The 3nm processors are said to be 15% faster and up to 30% more efficient than current-generation 5nm chips, like the Apple M1.
Intel has historically always manufactured its own chipsets, but has long struggled with a 10nm design in the desktop space, falling behind competitors like AMD in terms of power and efficiency, leading it to outsource production to TSMC.
