A Mumbai court on Monday sent former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh, who has been arrested in a corruption case, to judicial custody for 14 days.

The court turned down his request for home-cooked food. "You eat jail food first. If not, then I will consider," the court said.

The court, however, accepted his appeal for a bed in view of his medical condition.

Deshmukh was booked for money laundering by ED after former Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh alleged that he as minister gave police target ti collect Rs 100 crore a month.
