Sikh MP Narendra Singh Khalsa broke down while speaking to media persons after he arrived in India on Sunday along with 167 others from Kabul.
The lawmaker, along with 23 others Afghan Sikhs, was evacuated on a special India Air Force plane that also brought back 107 Indians from Kabul.
Narendra Singh said that everything that was built in the last 20 years is now finished. "It's zero now," he said while breaking down.
The government has said that it will help Hindus and Sikhs stuck in Afghanistan if they want to leave the country.
India shuts its embassy after the Taliban took over Kabul on August 15 and has evacuated diplomats, staff and security personnel. Evacuations are continuing as two flights with Indians landed on Sunday and more are scheduled to run.
