All 36-Rafale jets to be inducted by April 2022: Air Force Chief says everything going as planned

Indian Air Force Chief RKS Bhaduria on Saturday said the induction of the 36 Rafale jets into the IAF was on target and would get completed by 2022.

Speaking to reporters at the Combined Graduation Parade, the Air Force Chief said the operationalization plan of the Rafale jets is fully operational inspite of a few minor delays due to the pandemic.  

In 2016, India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France of procuring 36-Rafale jets at a cost Rs 59,000 crore. The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in April 2021 assuring the entire fleet of Rafale would be completed by April 2022.
