Air Force celebrates 89th Raising Day, PM Modi extends greetings

Air Force Day 2021: The India Air Force is celebrating its 89th foundation day today.

Main celebrations will take place at the Hindon Air Force Station in UP's Ghaziabad in the presence of the Chief of Air Staff and senior officials of the three armed forces.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the air warriors and their families on the occasion.

The Indian Air Force is synonymous with courage, diligence and professionalism. They have distinguished themselves in defending the country and through their humanitarian spirit in times of challenges, the PM tweeted.

The IAF was established on October 8, 1932, as a supporting force of the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force. Initially known as the Royal Indian Air Force, the prefix Royal was dropped in 1950 when India became a Republic.
