After Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad complained that Twitter had locked him out of his account because of a copyright violation complaint against him, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor too says he was locked out of his account.
Replying to the minister's tweet, Tharoor shared that his account was locked because the tweeted video included the copyrighted BoneyM song 'Rasputin'. He added that his account has been restored after due process.
He later tweeted that his account has been locked for a second time as he had retweeted his original tweet to explain the situation.
Tharoor, who is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, also said that the panel will be seeking an explanation from Twitter India about the actions against his and Ravi Shankar Prasad's accounts.
