After a series of terrorist attacks in France, President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday announced the govt's decision to increase border security to keep a check on illegal immigration and smuggling. The number of police and troops in charge of border control would be doubled to 48,00 from 2,400, the govt said. France will present a proposal at the European Summit in December, about making EU's external border control more efficient. France has raised its security alert to the maximum level after the Nice attack on Oct 29.
