After outrage over a girl's assault on a cab driver in Lucknow, police have filed a case against the girl.
The video of the assault in the middle of a road had gone viral and netizens trended #ArrestLucknowGirl whole day Monday to demand action against the girl who was seen badly thrashing the cab driver.
The woman accused the taxi driver of trying to run her over, but the cabbie denied the allegation. CCTV footage from the traffic junction also did not support the girl's claim.
She was seen repeatedly hitting the cab driver more than a dozen times in the presence of traffic personnel.
CCTV footage showed the woman crossing the road in a risky manner wading through the moving vehicles.
The cab driven by the victim can be seen stopping in front of the woman. She is then seen dragging the driver out and beating him.
Video led to outrage as netizens were shocked with the girl's behaviour and demanded action against her.
