The 3-match ODI series between Afghanistan and Australia which was to take place in India has been postponed, respective boards of both the countries confirmed on Sunday. The players of both nations are now free to participate in the remaining IPL which will be hosted in UAE in September.

Both boards in their statement said that they have agreed on postponing the series owing to the complexities of travel and quarantine period. They also cited the issue of finding a suitable location for the matches as the World T20 has been shifted from India to the UAE due to the virus scare in India. The tri-series was set to be played before World T20 and with a change in location of the World Cup the boards face logistical challenges.

The Australian Board further said that no objection certificate will be issued to the players who wish to participate in the second leg of IPL.
