An Afghan woman, who was among 168 passengers evacuated by India, expressed gratitude to the Indian government for helping her family. The Afghan woman arrived at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad near Delhi with her daughter and two grandchildren. She recalled the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan and said her house was burnt down by the Taliban.

India evacuated 168 people, including 107 Indians, from Kabul on Sunday amid deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of the nation on August 15.
The evacuees included some Indian Sikhs who had taken refugee at a Kabul gurudwara. ANI visuals also showed pictures of infants among those safely evacuated.
All evacuees will be given a RT-PCR test in view of the Covid pandemic and Afghan nationals will also be vaccinated against polio, the government has said
