Giselle of K-pop girl group Aespa apologised on Monday for mouthing a racial slur while singing a song.

In a behind-the-scenes video released showing Aespa preparing for their latest comeback, the 4 member group was seen singing along to Sza and Travis Scott’s Love Galore, and Giselle was spotted mouthing a line that includes a word that is used as a slur against black people.

The video was released on October 23rd and has since received lots of backlash online.

Giselle apologised in a series of tweets posted on Monday.

Giselle, who's real name is Aeri Uchinaga debuted as a member of SM Entertainment’s Aespa in 2020. The band released their first EP, also called Savage, earlier this month.
