A study by the Queensland University of Technology finds aerosol sunscreens to be diluted and ineffective unless sprayed for more than a minute.
Based on the report which looked at nine aerosol sunscreens including those from Banana Boat and Neutrogena, the Cancer Council UK has warned against their use.
The researchers said the issue is of application and not brand-specific. Adding that it would be nearly 'impossible for anyone to look at the product and know how long they need to spray it for or how much product is in there.'
