Popular Bengali actress and Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan has been blessed with a baby boy on Thursday.
The actress was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday. Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta who drove Nusrat to the hospital confirmed that both mother and the baby are doing well.
Nusrat had earlier shared her picture from the hospital before her delivery on her Instagram account.
Earlier this year Nusrat issued the statement amid speculations of a rift in her marriage and reports that she was living separately and was pregnant. She had said that her wedding was not registered under the special marriage act and hence she wasn’t legally married to her husband Nikhil Jain.
Nusrat Jahan had tied the knot with businessman Nikhil Jain at a destination wedding ceremony in Turkey in 2019. The actress later hosted a grand wedding reception at a five-star hotel in Kolkata which was attended by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee among other dignitaries.
She said she was in a live-in relationship as their wedding in Turkey did not have recognition in Indian law.
