Actor Michael K. Williams, who is known for his role Omar Little, the rogue robber of drug dealers on "The Wire" has died at the age of 54.
Williams was found dead Monday afternoon in his Brooklyn penthouse apartment, according to the New York City police. His death is being investigated as a possible drug overdose.
Omar Little, a character based on real people from Baltimore, was probably the most beloved character among the devoted fans of 'The Wire'. The HBO show ran from 2002 to 2008 and is among the most watched shows on streaming services.
Michael Williams was a regular on many acclaimed HBO series, including 'Boardwalk Empire', 'The Night Of' and “Lovecraft Country'.
He also acted in critically acclaimed films including 'Inherent Vice', '12 Years a Slave', and 'Gone Baby Gone' among many others.
