Dozens of Bethlehem residents and a few religious officials attended the Christmas Midnight Mass at the Church of the Nativity early on Friday.
The celebrations at the traditional birthplace of Jesus, however, were subdued in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a normal year, foreign pilgrims would flock to Bethlehem to be a part of the celebrations but the restrictions on travel kept them away this time.
