In reply, a horror start welcomed Team India as they lost Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw & Ishan Kishan early. Suryakumar Yadav rescued the team with a breezy 53 but Wanindu Hasaranga had some other plans. 3 wickets from the spinner ensured that Team India were on the mat.

A late surge including a stunning run-a-ball 84 run partnership between Deepak Chahar & Bhuvneshwar Kumar helped India cross the finish line with 3 wickets to spare. Chahar earned the Player of the Match award for his 2 wickets and an unbeaten 69 as India took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
