216 Naxals killed, 966 surrendered in last 3 years: Chhattisgarh govt

Chhattisgarh Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu on Wednesday informed the Assembly that 216 Naxals have been killed in encounters with security forces and 966 have surrendered in the state from 2018-19 to November 30 this year. The minister, in his written reply to a question by Congress MLA Dhanendra Sahu, also stated that 82 deaths were reported from Sukma district, which was the highest, followed by 46 in Bijapur and 30 in Dantewada. Out of the 966 ultras who surrendered, 333 were held in Sukma, 300 in Dantewada, and 164 in Narayanpur, he added.
