Kerala health minister Veena George on Sunday confirmed that 2 health workers, who were in contact with a 12-year-old who had contracted the Nipah virus, have also shown symptoms of the deadly virus.
The health minister further informed that 188 contacts have been identified and 20 of them have been marked as high-risk contacts.
Out of these 20, 2 are showing symptoms.
While all those who might have come in contact with the virus have been asked to isolate, the high-risk contacts will be shifted to the Kozhikode Medical college by evening where a dedicated Nipah ward has been made.
