During the celebrations of Maslenitsa, a pre-Christian holiday that symbolizes the beginning of spring, locals in Russia's Kemerovo set a record on the 14th of March, for the tallest pile of pancakes!

The pile measured approximately 11.5 feet, using 1500 pancakes at the Tomskaya Pisanitsa museum and reserve in Kemerovo.

The event aims to bring people together to make these pancakes so that everyone feels a part of the record.

The minimum requirement for the national record is 2 meters and the pile made this year surpassed it to measure over 3 meters.
