South African police were investigating the deaths of at least 21 people at a nightclub in the coastal town of East London and authorities said most of the victims were minors as young as 13 years old.

Police minister Bheki Cele said the victims' ages ranged from 13 to 17, raising questions about why the underaged teenagers were being served alcohol.
President Cyril Ramaphosa expressed condolences to the families of those who died.
"The President is, however, concerned about the reported circumstances under which such young people were gathered at a venue which, on the face of it, should be off limits to persons under the age of 18," Ramaphosa said in a statement.
The death toll from the incident rose to 21.
The owner of the club, Siyakhangela Ndevu, told local media he was called to the scene early Sunday morning.
"I am still uncertain about what really happened, but when I was called in the morning I was told the place was too full and that some people were trying to force their way into the tavern," he said. "However, we will hear what the police say about the cause of death."

That puts it 426 meters (1,400 feet) deeper than the USS Johnson, the previous deepest wreck discovered last year in the Philippine Sea also by American explorer Victor Vescovo, founder of Dallas-based Caladan Oceanic Expeditions. He announced the latest find together with U.K.-based EYOS Expeditions.
The Sammy B. took part in the Battle off Samar, the final phase of the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944, in which the Imperial Japanese Navy suffered its biggest loss of ships and failed to dislodge the U.S. forces from Leyte, which they invaded earlier as part of the liberation of the Philippines.
According to some records, the destroyer disabled a Japanese heavy cruiser with a torpedo and significantly damaged another.
After having spent virtually all its ammunition, she was critically hit by the lead battleship Yamato and sank, killing 89.

Two people and a shooter died Thursday night in a shooting outside a church in Ames, authorities said.
The three people died outside the Cornerstone Church, a megachurch on the outskirts of Ames, according to the Story County Sheriff's Office. The church is near Interstate 35, about 30 miles (48.28 kilometers) north of Des Moines.
The sheriff's office didn't give details about the shooting but told KCCI-TV that they received multiple calls at 6:51 p.m.
The sheriff's office says there was no longer a threat to the public.

Harry Gration was one of the main anchors for the BBC Yorkshire regional magazine programme Look North.  Gration was initially a sports commentator on rugby league games which led to a three-month contract with the BBC.  He started presenting Look North in 1982 and retired from the broadcasting channel in 2020. His final appearance as lead presenter on Look North was 21 October 2020, the day before his 70th birthday.

A man dressed as United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson entertained cricket fans on day two of the third and final Test between England and New Zealand by running through the stands while being chased by men dressed as police officers. 
The incident took place at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds, England. A viral video taken in the stands shows one cricket lover dressed as Mr Johnson, complete with a blonde wig, a blue tie and a white shirt with "Please vote Boris 4 No. 10" written on the back. The short clip shows the man being chased by the rest of his friends, who were all dressed up in police uniforms.
The clip sees the group make their way along the edge of the boundary. In the background, the crowd can also be heard cheering. 
According to Indy 100, the video was in reference to the recent Partygate scandal, which saw Mr Johnson become the first sitting Prime Minister to be found to have broken the law. The Metropolitan Police had investigated 12 different law-breaking parties held in Downing Street and Whitehall during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. 
The UK PM is said to have attended six of them and was even hit with a fine over his 2020 birthday party. Despite facing a vote of no-confidence earlier this month following the scandal, Mr Johnson managed to survive. 
Coming back to the video, since being shared, the video has taken the internet by storm. It has garnered more than 470,000 views and thousands of likes and comments. One user jokingly wrote, "Can't be the real Boris Johnson. The police are making an effort to catch him." Others simply called the video "amazing" and "brilliant" and flooded the comment section with laughing emojis.

Blockade Australia says it's trying to raise awareness about climate change and calling for further action by leaders.

The US space agency NASA launched a rocket from the newly built Australian Arnhem Space Centre (ASC) on Monday morning.
According to local media, it was the first commercial rocket launch in Australia's history and NASA's first from a launch pad outside the United States of America.
Operated by Equatorial Launch Australia (ELA), the ASC is "the only commercially owned and run multi-user equatorial launch site in the world," according to an ELA statement.
The rocket, which is expected to travel over 300 kilometers (186 miles) in space, is carrying equipment to observe the Alpha Centauri constellations, studies which can only be done from the Southern Hemisphere according to ELA.
Two more launches are planned for July 4 and July 12.
