Miracle drug? Every cancer patient part of a drug trial cured: New York Times report

The report quoted a doctor from New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as saying that 'it is the first time it has happened in the history of cancer'

All 18 patients who were part of a drug trial were found to be cured of rectal cancer at the end of a 6-month treatment, according to a New York Times report.

The patients were part of a small clinical trial for a drug called Dostarlimab. It is drug with laboratory-produced molecules that act as substitute antibodies in the human body.

All 18 patients were given the same drug and at the end of the trial their cancer was undetectable by physical exam, endoscopy, PET scans or MRI scans, according to the New York Times.

The report quoted a doctor from New York's Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as saying that 'it is the first time it has happened in the history of cancer'.
