Samsung expands support for Auracast, 360 audio, and Auto Switch across Galaxy devices

Samsung boosts its audio tech with expanded Auracast support for devices like Galaxy S23 and Tab S9, enhancing 360 Audio for a surround sound experience and introducing Auto Switch for seamless device transitions on Galaxy Books.

Samsung expands support for Auracast, 360 audio, and Auto Switch across Galaxy devices

In a recent announcement, Samsung outlined its enhanced support for several advanced audio technologies, notably Auracast, 360 Audio, and Auto Switch, marking a significant upgrade in its device lineup. The updates, set to roll out starting this month, aim to enrich the user experience for Galaxy Buds 2, Galaxy Buds FE, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro owners.

Expanding Auracast Support

Auracast represents a cutting-edge Bluetooth technology that enables a single device to transmit an audio stream to an unlimited number of receivers, such as speakers and headphones.

Initially integrated into the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Samsung's latest premium TVs, Auracast's capabilities are now extending to a broader range of smartphones and tablets.

Devices equipped with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 or higher, including the Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and Tab S9 tablets, will soon facilitate Auracast broadcasts. Additionally, certain devices running One UI 5.1.1 will gain the ability to receive Auracast broadcasts, further enhancing Samsung’s ecosystem of Auracast broadcast and receive devices.

360 Audio Enhancement

Samsung is also broadening the application of its 360 Audio technology, a feature that delivers a surround sound experience by simulating audio directions based on head movement. This immersive audio experience, compatible with Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Galaxy Buds 2, is extending to more Samsung Neo QLED and OLED TVs, highlighting the company's commitment to a unified and immersive audio-visual experience.

Auto Switch Functionality

The Auto Switch feature, known for seamlessly transitioning the Bluetooth connection of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro between Samsung devices like tablets or TVs and a smartphone upon receiving a call, is receiving an update. This convenience is now expanding to include Galaxy Book laptops equipped with One UI 6.0, illustrating Samsung's dedication to creating a cohesive and user-friendly ecosystem across its device range.

Samsung's latest developments underscore its commitment to enhancing user experiences through innovative audio technologies. By expanding Auracast expanded support and enriching the functionality of 360 Audio and Auto Switch, Samsung continues to pave the way for a more interconnected and immersive digital world.
