Xiaomi’s very first smartwatch, which was launched in China last month, has received a software update that brings major improvements and adds support for iOS. The update fixes several bugs, including the notification issue, and now updates weather location automatically. The Mi Watch features a 1.78-inch square-shaped AMOLED display, a swimproof design, and a Snapdragon Wear 3100 4G chipset coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. The Apple watch look-alike runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI for watch on top of Google’s Wear OS and it’s available at just CNY 1,299 or roughly ₹13,000 in China.

Microsoft's next generation Xbox console has officially been unveiled, and it's called the Xbox Series X. The cuboid-shaped tower can reportedly be used in both horizontal and vertical positions, and the company says it will deliver four times the processing power of the Xbox One X. Microsoft hasn't revealed any more information about the specs, but it's known that the Series X will feature a custom-designed CPU, an NVMe SSD, support for 8K gaming, ray tracing, up to 120fps and variable refresh rate support. There's also a new Xbox Wireless Controller that's slightly smaller, but reportedly retains the rumble triggers, gets a new Share button, and works with Xbox One consoles and Windows 10 PCs. While rumours of a second console have not been addressed by the company, it's possible that there's another on the way, due to the Xbox 'Series' X nomenclature. Pricing is yet to be revealed for the new device, but the company has said it will ship in time for the 2020 holiday season.

Korean tech giant Samsung has claimed that its $2,000 Samsung Galaxy Fold has sold 1 million units globally. The foldable smartphone saw a delayed September launch, after the original launch was cancelled due to malfunctioning review units. The Galaxy Fold features a screen that's 7.3-inches when folded out, and sports a triple camera setup on the back. It runs on the Snapdragon 855 chip, 12GB of RAM and houses 512GB of storage space. It's currently on sale in India for ₹1,64,999.

WhatsApp will soon stop working on millions of phones after the messaging app announced it will stop supporting older devices. The Facebook-owned company revealed in a blog&nbsp;post that it will end support for iPhones running iOS 8 or older, and Android smartphones running version 2.3.7 or older from February 1, 2020. It also said that Windows phone users won&rsquo;t be able to access WhatsApp after December 31.

Microsoft&rsquo;s Your Phone app for Windows 10 has received a new update that&nbsp;allows Android users to make or receive calls directly from their PC. It also offers other nifty features, such as checking call history, managing audio levels, and transferring calls between your phone and PC seamlessly. The app already allows you to relay text messages, sync notifications, and share images.

HP has launched its next-generation Spectre x360 13 premium convertible laptop in India. Launched globally in September, it comes with 10th generation Intel Core processors, Windows Precision touchpad, and features a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The Spectre x360 13 gets up to a 4K anti-reflective&nbsp;OLED display, a tiny 2.2mm webcam with a kill switch, a dedicated mic mute button and a 60 Whr battery that promises 22 hours of juice. The x360 starts at ₹99,990 for the 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD variant.

E-commerce platform Flipkart is hosting the Samsung Carnival sale, and it's brought discounts to various Samsung Galaxy smartphones like the S9, A50 and A70. While the 4GB RAM variant of the A50 is down to ₹14,999 from ₹18,490, the 6GB RAM model now costs ₹17,990. The A70 now costs ₹23,990 for its 6GB RAM, 128GB storage model, while the S9 is now available at a starting price of ₹27,999.&nbsp;The sale is on till December 14, and includes additional exchange discounts and cashback offers on select devices.

YouTube announced that it will now remove videos and comments that insult someone&rsquo;s race, gender expression, or sexuality. The popular video sharing platform will also ban &ldquo;veiled or implied threats&rdquo;, including content and language that suggests violence, as part of its new anti-harassment policy. It said that these changes apply to everyone: from private individuals and YouTube creators, to public officials.

According to reports, Chinese smartphone and TV maker Xiaomi continues to maintain a substantial lead in the smart TV segment. The&nbsp;IDC's&nbsp;quarterly report says that&nbsp;Xiaomi&nbsp;has had a 33 per cent market share for Q3 2019. Xiaomi&rsquo;s Mi TV recorded a 46-per cent quarter-on-quarter growth and 69-per cent year-on-year growth. The Mi Smart TV starts at ₹12,499, while the cheapest 4K model is available for ₹24,999.

Twitter has announced that users of Apple's iOS platform will now be able to upload Live Photos directly to the platform as a GIF. Introduced on the iPhone 6S back in 2015, Live Photos turns a regular still image into a 1.5 second video clip, using frames captured from around the time the shutter button is pressed. iOS&nbsp;users can now select Live Photos from their camera roll, tap on the GIF button, and upload them to Twitter.

PUBG Mobile 0.16.0 update is rolling out to users with two new classic mode features and a new EvoGround&nbsp;mode called&nbsp;RageGear. The 0.67GB update for both Android and iOS users marks the beginning of the in-game winter festival, and the ability to snowboard and ride the cable cars in the new Snow Paradise region of Erangel map. The RageGear mode offers high-speed combat while driving and players will have to destroy enemy vehicles to win the round. The update also offers perspective switching from TPP to FPP and the ability to heal while moving.

Forza Horizon 4 is getting a new mode that's quite an unusual one for racing games--battle royale. You'll soon be able to play 'The Eliminator', which includes a shrinking safe zone, upgrades for your cars across the map, and head-to-head races to a random point. Eliminate your opponent, and you can either pick their car or an upgrade for your own, with the racing area shrinking periodically until the last survivors compete for the win in one last free-for-all race. Available from 12th December onwards, the new mode will be available as a free update to Xbox One and Windows 10 gamers.

Samsung is finally extending the stable Android 10-based update of its One UI 2 to Galaxy S10e users. The 1,975 MB package also brings the Android security patch for December. The One UI 2 update features dark mode, clearer icons, smoother animations and new navigation gestures. It also brings Digital Wellbeing features, enhanced parental control and updates to Samsung&rsquo;s Camera, Calendar and Alarm apps among others. The updates may vary from region to region, and you can check yours by heading over to Settings and Software Update.

NASA&rsquo;s Mars 2020 rover will join &lsquo;Curiosity&rsquo; on the Red Planet next year in summer. The newest rover borrows from Curiosity's design but its body is slightly longer and heavier, which packs 23 cameras and two microphones. The mission of Mars 2020 is to explore a Jerezo Crater, a landscape shaped by water.&nbsp;It will look for actual signs of past life and&nbsp;capture&nbsp;samples of rocks that could be retrieved by future missions and returned to Earth for in-depth study.

Asus has announced that the souped-up variant of the ROG Phone 2 with 12GB RAM and 512GB Storage will go on sale in India through Flipkart on December 11th at ₹59,999. The gaming smartphone, which was launched in India on September 23, packs a Snapdragon 855+ chipset, a large 6,000 mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display, and updated touch-sensitive air triggers on the sides that double up as extra controllers.

Game developer Capcom has released the trailer for it's upcoming horror game,&nbsp;Resident Evil 3, that's set to launch publicly on 3rd April, 2020. The storyline is set a few days before the one in Resident Evil 2, and involves the protagonist Jill Valentine attempting to escape from a zombie-infested city. The new game uses photogrammetry to improve graphic details, and will be available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users.

According to reports, streaming service Netflix has said it's begun testing long-term subscription plans in India. New plans with annual, six month and three month term periods are being offered with discounts of up to 50%, when compared to monthly plans. The testing is currently limited to select users, but includes both mobile and web subscribers. The company's default monthly subscription starts from ₹199, with the new 3 month plan costing ₹1,919, the 6 month plan costing ₹3,359, and the annual plan costing ₹4,799. The testing comes just a week after Netflix announced that it plans to spend ₹3,000 crores to produce fresh local content in India.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has said that its Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones have surpassed 4.5 million shipments around the world. The K-Series was launched earlier this year with the introduction of the K20 and K20 Pro, that came to India at a starting price of ₹21,999 for the base variant of the K20. The higher spec K20 Pro costs ₹25,999, and packs in a Snapdragon 855 chip, a 48MP triple rear camera setup, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, and a 4,000mAh battery. The Redmi K30 series was recently announced in China, but there's no word yet on Indian pricing and availability.

The United States Justice department reportedly plans to review Google&rsquo;s acquisition of wearables company Fitbit for possible antitrust issues. The $2.1 billion November deal gives the search giant access to detailed user data collected by Fitbit, and that may help&nbsp;Google compete with the likes of Apple and Samsung in the crowded market for fitness trackers and smartwatches.

Google has announced that its Android TV platform will receive the Android 10 update in 2020. The update will bring more secure storage, several security improvements, better performance and enable faster updates--thanks to Project Treble. Google has also introduced a new developer-focused streaming device--the ADT-3--to build and test their Android TV apps.
