The upcoming World T20 which is scheduled to take place in Australia later this year is all set to be postponed. A formal announcement from Cricket Australia is likely next week. Borders in Australia are sealed till September end and there are strict guidelines by the government about quarantine and international travel. According to a report in the Times of India, Cricket Australia's request was shot down by the local government as hosting 16 teams from across the world with proper hospitality wasn't a safe enough option. The World T20 was scheduled for October-November later this year. The cancellation or postponement of the World T20 will also open a door for the BCCI to host the Indian Premier League in that window.
