World Cup final: ICC defends umpire's overthrow call

After Umpires Kumar Dharamasena and Marais Erasmus received flak for awarding 1 extra run to England during the Wolrld Cup final, the ICC has come out in defence of the two umpires, saying they followed the 'right process' while making the decision. The incident happened after the ball deflected off diving Ben Stokes' bat and ran to the boundary. The umpires awarded England six runs, instead of five, which eventually became a hot topic, with many blaming the umpires for New Zealand's loss. The International cricket body also added that the playing conditions did not allow the third umpire or the match referee to intervene.
