Women with low fibre intake more prone to breast cancer

Apr 06, 2020 23:13 IST

A new study conducted by Harvard University has found that women who consume fewer fibre-rich foods in their diet could be more prone to breast cancer later in life. Researchers found that women with high fibre intake were 8% less likely to get breast cancer than those with the lowest intake. Fibre helps the digestive system run well and makes you feel full. Apart from fruits and vegetables, lead researcher Dr. Maryam Farvid recommends eating whole grain, legumes, seeds, and nuts to keep your diet fibre-rich.
