In a shocking turn of events, a woman who suffered an ectopic pregnancy was rendered infertile after the surgeon removed her healthy fallopian tube by mistake. Ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of womb, usually in one of the fallopian tubes. The 27-year-old healthcare worker was rushed to UK's Walsall Manor Hospital in March last year after her potentially life-threatening pregnancy. During the operation, the surgeon removed her left fallopian tube instead of the right one, leaving her infertile forever. She shared the incident in a BBC News interview. The hospital apologised and admitted an error was 'regrettably made'.
