With 169 votes, Uddhav wins Maharashtra floor test

Dec 02, 2019 11:44 IST

The newly-elected Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government of the Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance on Saturday won the crucial floor test after getting 169 votes in their favour. This came amid an uproar by BJP MLAs who staged a walkout amid the proceedings. Pro tem Speaker Dilip Walse Patil informed the House that nobody voted against the motion as all the 105 MLAs had walked out of the 288-member House before the head count of legislators began. Four MLAs, including those from Maharashtra Navniraman Sena, abstained from voting.
