Wildlife reclaims spaces vacated by humans amid lockdown

Mar 28, 2020 13:43 IST

Several videos of, wild animals freely wandering on otherwise crowded streets and bustling urban settings in India, have emerged on social media over the last few days as the country faces a 21-day lockdown to curb the coronavirus. Rare shots of a deer strolling in Haridwar, mass nesting turtles and a Nilgai breaking curfew rules in Noida have been circulating on social media, and the latest trending video from Kerala shows what seems like an endangered Malabar civet calmly crossing a usually busy street in Kozhikode district.
