Mar 24, 2021 13:03 IST | By Editorji News Desk

They taste mild but incredibly refreshing. With more than 95 per cent water content, cucumbers are as good for your body as they are for your skin.

Eaten very often as part of Indian and Mediterranean diets, the super hydrating vegetable is loaded with vitamin K, B and C as well as minerals like copper, phosphorus and potassium.

Thanks to the antioxidants, water and fibre present in cucumbers, they can help keep your body clean from the inside making your skin look great on the outside.

A highly versatile food, cucumbers can be used topically as well for its rejuvenating and anti-inflammatory properties. Applying slices of cucumber directly on your skin or eyes can help soothe the skin, reduce swelling and irritation. It can even decrease morning puffiness when placed on the eyes.

You can even make your own toner from cucumber by simple blending and sieving some cucumber juice and let its astringent properties do their magic.

For a hydrating face mask, it is often recommended to mix cucumber with some yoghurt as both these ingredients work well together to make your skin silky smooth.

You can even splash some cucumber water on your face if your tap water is too harsh.

Whether you eat it in your salad or apply topically on your skin, there’s no denying that cucumber can truly do wonders for both your body and your skin.
