WHO: Toxic air killed 1 lakh kids in 2016 in India

Air pollution killed highest number of under-5 children in India in 2016, a WHO report has said. At least 100,000 children below five years died in 2016 due to health complications associated with high outdoor and indoor air pollution, according to the report titled ‘Air Pollution and Child Health’. The report analysed the impact of toxic air on the health of children in 194 countries.
