Nandigram campaign ends: Didi shuns wheelchair for national anthem

Mar 30, 2021 21:23 IST | By Editorji News Desk

A wheelchair bound West Bengal chief minister ended her high-voltage campaign for Nandigram Assembly seat by insisting that she would stand up for the national anthem.

Her party leader Subrata Bakshi and Dola Sen helped the TMC chief stand up from the wheelchair and she stood on one leg during the national anthem.

The campaign for the Nandigram Assembly constituency has come to an end as the seat goes to the polls on April 1, the second phase of Bengal polls.

The seat is most closely-watched as it is witnessing a direct contest between Mamata Banerjee and her former trustee Suvendu Adhikari, who joined the BJP last year.
