WhatsApp will now let users join a group call that they missed

Jul 20, 2021 14:37 IST | By Editorji News Desk

WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new feature that will let users join an ongoing group call that they initially missed.

If the missed group call is still ongoing, users will see a ‘tap to join’ option which will let them join the call. Users can even drop-off again and re-join later.

WhatsApp has created a new call info screen, which will tell users who is already on the call, and who has been invited but not yet joined.

WhatsApp says this feature will help bring the spontaneity and ease of in-person conversations to group calling.

The feature has begun rolling out, and should be available on all Android and iOS devices soon.
