West Indies team to don Black Lives Matter logo to show solidarity

Jun 29, 2020 12:30 IST

The West Indies cricket team has decided to wear the Black lives matter logo on the collars of their jerseys during the upcoming 3 Test series against England starting from July 8. West Indies' skipper Jason Holder said that although they had come to England to regain the Wisden Trophy, they were also well aware of happenings around the world and the fight for justice and equality. While the hosts are also expected to show support for the ongoing campaign, England and Wales and Cricket Board have renamed the series as Raise the Bat Test series. Last month, Black Lives Matter protests erupted across the world following the death of an African American George Floyd because of police brutality.
