Scores of protesting farmers agitating at the Singhu borders of the national capital offered prayers, lit ‘diyas’, exchanged sweets as they greeted each other on Guru Nanak Jayanti on Monday. The farmers took a pledge to continue their fight against the Centre’s new farm laws. Farmers mostly from Punjab and Haryana have been protesting in Delhi after days of struggle to enter the national capital. They braved water cannons, tear gas, lathi-charge and barricades at the Delhi-Haryana border last week before they were allowed in the capital.
