Warm weather will not reduce virus transmission: Princeton study

May 20, 2020 18:36 IST

A Princeton University study has found that hot summer will not have much effect on making a significant reduction in Covid transmission. 'Without effective control measures, strong outbreaks are likely in more humid climates and summer weather will not substantially limit pandemic growth,' noted the study published in the Science journal. For the purpose of the study, researchers studied 3 simulations on the impact climate on pandemics. Researchers found that climate only had an impact when a large portion of the population already had some kind of immunity or resistance to the virus
