Expelled AIADMK leader VK Sasikala has said she is quitting politics and public life. Sasikala who was in a Bengaluru jail for four years in a corruption case was released in January and was widely expected to re-enter her party ahead of the assembly polls in Tamil Nadu. In a letter released on Wednesday, Sasikala, who was a close aide of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, wrote that she has 'never been after power or position'. This comes days after her nephew TTV Dhinakaran told reporters that Sasikala will certainly contest upcoming assembly elections. In the letter, she also urged the supporters of AIADMK to stay united and defeat MK Stalin's DMK.
