With Brazil still reeling under one of the world's worst covid-19 outbreaks, the government in Rio de Janeiro announced on Friday that city stadiums may allow in a limited number of fans starting July 10. However, the fans will have to follow strict social distancing norms as the stadiums will be restricted to one-third of their capacity. Apart from that, there will also be a limit of one fan for every four square metres with tickets available only online. Brazilian soccer clubs have also decided to start the country's main championship on August 9, despite concerns from health experts, who predict the pandemic could be peaking in the country at that time.
