After Virat Kohli announced that he will be stepping down as the T20I skipper after the World T20, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said that the decision has been made keeping in mind the future roadmap.

Thanking Virat for his tremendous performance as the T20I Captain, Dada hoped that Kohli continues to score plenty of runs for India. Virat has been a true asset for Indian Cricket added Ganguly.

32-year-old Kohli on Thursday said that he wanted to step down as the captain in the shortest format in order to manage his workload and needed to give himself space to be fully ready to lead the Indian Team in Test and ODI Cricket. Virat will continue to be available for selection for the T20 format post the World T20.
