The decade that birthed Indipop stars like Alisha Chinai and cult films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dil Toh Pagal Hai, the 1990s created trends that are still big today. From denim shirts, crop tops, chokers, co-ordinates and overalls to chiffon sarees and oversized shirts, we saw it all in the &lsquo;90s. And leading ladies like Karisma Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Kajol, often styled by Manish Malhotra, became the style icons of this period.

The aughts or the 2000s saw many international fashion brands opening up stores in India. Sporting the latest styles and trends was no longer limited to people who had connections abroad. Micro bags, sheer tops, oversized sweatshirts and cycling shorts were the viral trends from the period. Bloggers and Instagram-famous supermodels were the biggest trendsetters.
As the last decade comes to a close amidst a full-blown pandemic, the focus remains on comfort and clothes that look good on social media. The next decade in fashion is poised to be more inclusive and focussed on technological advancements such as smart fabrics and digital-only clothes.

Most of the womenswear&nbsp;and&nbsp;accessories&nbsp;pieces sold out instantly, while the menswear followed suit with only a few pieces remaining on the H&amp;M&nbsp;site by the evening of the launch day.
Unable to snap up anything for themselves, netizens&nbsp;soothed their pain with memes on social media. One user even wrote that 'you had to be quick like vaccine slots' while another 'wished for the pandemic to end as quickly' as the collection sold out.
Going by the history of H&amp;M's designer collaborations, the Sabyasachi&nbsp;drop will not be restocked but you can sign up to get notified on H&amp;M's site in case it does.

Maker of&nbsp;affordable and trendy clothes, H&amp;M's factories have been named in several worker abuse reports over the years. Whereas Sabyasachi&nbsp;has been considered a champion for the Indian fashion industry and an ardent supporter of local artisans.
For his part, the designer has claimed in press interviews that 90 per cent of the H&amp;M line has been produced in India and&nbsp;all the patterns in the collaboration are hand-drawn by the Sabyasachi Art&nbsp;Foundation.
Priced between Rs. 2,000 to 10,000, the brand has also steered clear of calling this collection, a 'sustainable' one.&nbsp;
Keeping in mind the pandemic situation, H&amp;M is also pushing for a&nbsp;responsible in-store shopping experience, where customers will be asked to pre-register to shop the collection in stores.
But knowing H&amp;M's history, it is not wrong to question the lack of transparency and actual&nbsp;execution of these tall claims.
If you're on the fence, it might be a good idea to shop directly from a homegrown craft or designer brand that makes goods in your preferred price range.

Speaking during a live stream&nbsp;at the&nbsp;phygital&nbsp;edition&nbsp;of the fashion week, Malhotra&nbsp;said he looks at NFTs as a&nbsp;whole new&nbsp;industry&nbsp;for the exchange of art and culture which is creating new opportunities for all creatives.
