A protest broke out in Minneapolis on Sunday night following the death of a 20-year-old black man who was shot by a cop. A former police officer is currently on trial in Minneapolis for the murder of George Floyd.
As per reports, hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Brooklyn Center police station, holding placards with messages like 'Justice for Daunte Wright'. In response, the police fired tear gas and flashbangs at the crowd.
On Sunday evening, a cop from the Brooklyn center police station shot Daunte Wright after he held him for a traffic violation and an outstanding warrant. The Minnesota bureau of Criminal Apprehension said that they were investigating the officer involved in the shooting.
