United States raises age for buying tobacco products

The United States has officially raised the federal legal age for buying tobacco products from 18 to 21. The move comes after US President Donald Trump signed a legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the law includes cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes. The new age for buying these products has already been implemented in a few states and cities across the country. The move comes in the wake of rising numbers of youth vaping and vaping-related illnesses.
