68 girls from a college in Gujarat's Bhuj were asked to remove their undergarments to prove that they weren't menstruating. Hostel inmates of Shri Sahjanand Girls’ Institute have alleged mental torture by hostel authorities over menstruation rules. According to the hostel rules girls in their monthly cycle are supposed to isolate themselves and are barred from entering the kitchen and temple. The incident happened after the warden suspected that some girls were not following the rules and then informed the principal. The Vice-Chancellor of Kutch University has said that she has formed an inquiry committee, but claimed that some students have apologised for breaking the 'menstruation' rules. The students have demanded legal action against the officials.
