Umar Akmal banned for 3 years by the PCB

Apr 27, 2020 17:44 IST

Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal has been slapped with a 3-year ban from all forms of cricket for his 2 breaches of PCB's anti corruption code. Earlier, Akmal had said in an interview that he was offered $200,000 by fixers to leave 2 deliveries in one of the matches and was also offered money to skip matches against India. Akmal also claimed that he was approached during the 2015 World Cup. After the claim, he was suspended by the PCB on February 20 and had also declined his chance of defending himself against the corruption charges.
