In the race to develop a new vaccine against the novel coronavirus, British scientists have claimed that they will be able to conduct human clinical trials by the summer. However, the vaccine wouldn't be ready to be used against the infection until late 2020 or early 2021. The vaccine has just started being tested on animals. Robin Shattock, from Imperial College London, stated that they 'were trying to have the vaccine ready if the virus becomes a cyclical rather than a one-off event'. Conventional development of a vaccine takes atleast two-three years but they've managed it in just 14 days time.
