Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday once again criticised the Centre over the lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus, highlighting the plight of workers across the country after its imposition. Gandhi said the ‘Tughlaqi lockdown’ left millions of workers on the road. He said the government further made it difficult for the workers to withdraw their only support of MNREGA earnings from banks. In his tweet in Hindi he accused the government of crushing the rights of the poor. Earlier this week Gandhi had criticised the central government over inflation and unemployment, saying ‘public morale is crumbling and social justice is being crushed.
