Yet another final and India once again finished as the runners up as Australia beat the women in blue by 11 runs in the Tri-nation series final on Wednesday. Opting to bat first, an unbeaten 54-ball-71 by Beth Mooney helped the Aussies finish at 155/6. Though India lost wickets at regular intervals in their run-chase but Smriti Mandhana kept the hopes alive with a fiery knock. She eventually fell for 66 but her innings made sure that India needed just 39 runs off the final 5 overs. But Jess Jonassen ran through the lower-middle order with 5 scalps as India lost last 7 wickets for just 29 runs. Though Mandhana's return to form a good sign for India ahead of the T20 World Cup but the women in blue need to figure out a way to end their final jinx before the marquee event.
