The funeral of a young woman, who was shot by the police in the head on February 9 during anti-coup protests, was held on Sunday in Naypyitaw. 20-year-old Mya Thwet Thwet Khine was the first confirmed death among the many thousands who have taken to the streets to protest against the Myanmar Junta. People in large numbers gathered outside the hospital where her body was held amid tight security. When her body was released, a motorized parade began a drive to the cemetery with makeshift memorials and posters with portraits of the slain.
